(no subject)
Jun. 4th, 2007 12:36 amSo I've been hit by the thing where you can't post long entries normally (though I haven't been hit hard. My recent entries haven't exactly been long). It's made me poke around a bit, and I've discovered that I can still post via email and Google Documents (and apparently I knew about GoogleDocs before because it was all set up when I went to try it).
Now email posts are okay, but they leave no way to edit once you've posted (or "I've posted" since not everyone is affected). However, Google Documents let me post and edit. I'm back in business, baby! (As soon as I'm not-lazy enough to get off my butt and actually start typing ;))
Deleting is another matter. Right now I'm reduced to tampering with the headers so that the entry text isn't transmitted when I try to delete, in order to reduce the postdata size, and be able to have the submission go through. I know, I could just rig up a script to disable the sole textarea and then hit delete, but I'm too lazy to, whatever.
(I kind of miss the days when deleting was a one-click affair (plus confirmation :P))
This too shall pass, etc etc etc. In the meantime I shall be forced (but gladly!) to keep things short and swee-- simp--. Keep things short. (One fatal flaw in this plan: somewhat harder to strike out text in Google Docs. Button is there, but it's in a dropdown. Not worth the effort.)
ETA:
Oh dear, no way to control tags or entry security.
