Just before I left, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11 reminded me that I hadn't posted up the answers to the Disney songs entry. And then earlier today, [livejournal.com profile] murklins decided it would be fun to get Dumbo songs stuck in my head (we moved on to Phantom of the Opera afterwards, which was nice.) Very late, but I'm in a nostalgic mood right now.

  1. "Casey Junior's coming down the tracks" - from Dumbo [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina]
I don't actually know the name of this song. All I remember is that this is near the beginning of the movie, where the circus and everyone in the circus is all packed up in the train, and the train is making its way across the country. It's very cheerful, with lots of train sounds.

  2. "Drip drip drop little April shower" - from Bambi [[livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]
If memory serves me right, this song is called "Little April Shower". Again, this is near the beginning of the movie, and ends (I believe) in Bambi's birth in the thicket. (I learned what a thicket was from this movie :-)) The tune is somewhat bright, but it always leaves me feeling a bit sad because of the rain.

  3. "We are Siamese, if you please (meoow)" - from Lady and the Tramp [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
A very annoying song by a very annoying duo! [livejournal.com profile] dachinchilla once linked to a version by Hillary and Haley Duff. Not an improvement.

(And no, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, it's not from Artistocats :P)

  4. "Whistle while you work *doot doot doot doot doot doo*" - from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
I forgot whether this is the same song as the one that goes HEIGH HO HEIGH HO HEIGH HO. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't ;-)

  5. "Zero to hero!" - from Hercules [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] burr86, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13]
I don't actually remember many of the songs from this movie, though I can hum along if other people start singing the lyrics. I did sing "Go the Distance" in Chinese once (that was a disaster ;p)

  6. "God help the outcasts, hungry from birth. Show them the mercy they won't find on Earth" - from Hunchback of Notre Dame [[livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
I'm surprised at how few people got this. The drama in this song used to give me nightmares. This one happened in the church, and was sung by Esmeralda. Lots of candles, lots of masks, lots and lots of guilt.

  7. "Le poisson, le poisson, hee hee hee HO HO HO" - from The Little Mermaid [[livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
Most people forget this song. It takes place in the kitchen, and is the one just before the chef finds Sebastian. I love it; it's crazy and diabolical. I love to shout out bits and pieces of it when inappropriate ("Love to chop and serve little fish" "Sacre bleu, I have miiissed one").

  8. "We can do it we can do it we can help our Cinderelly" - from Cinderella [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
Lyrics are a dead giveaway, I think? ;-)

  9. "She glanced this way. I thought I saw" - from Beauty and the Beast [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]
Okay, I cheated a bit and chose something non-obvious. (This particular line was sung by the Beast, by the way, though a lot of the song was sung by Mrs Pots)

  10. "Riffraff, street rat, I don't buy that. If only they'd look closer" - from Aladdin [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] burr86, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]

  11. "Listen with your heart. You will understand" - from Pocahontas [[livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]
Sung by the grandma/willow tree. Very soothing, almost hypnotic.

  12. "Look for the bear necessities" - from The Jungle Book [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] burr86, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
    <3 Baloo and Bagheera

Somehow, I did not expect this many people to get this song.

  13. "Bella notte~" - from Lady and the Tramp [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
Sung by the chef, who also plays the violin while Lady and Tramp share a plate of spaghetti with meatballs :)

  14. "(something) raging tiger. (something) big typhoon. (something) coursing river"
"You must be swift as a coursing river, with all the strength of a great typhoon, with all the strength of a raging fire, mysterious as the dark side of the moon." (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42 for the correction!) - from Mulan [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]
I really don't know the lyrics to this one. I sang it as "The spirit of the dark side of the moon" for years, and was corrected less than a month ago.

Is there no tiger in there? That was one of the primary things I remembered about the lyrics.

  15. "I've got whosits and whatsis galore. Want thingamabobs? I've got plenty!" - from The Little Mermaid [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
Sung by Ariel in the grotto, and one of my favorite Disney songs because it's so easy to sing.

  16. "So I'm roughly the size of a barge" - from Beauty and the Beast [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]
Sung by Gaston in the tavern. Lots and lots of fun bits. (I hate the guy, but I love his songs.) I have always wanted to sing this properly, but alas I'm not manly enough.

  17. "When you wish upon a star..." - from Pinocchio [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] gameboyguy13, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]
I cannot remember if I've ever seen Pinocchio. I remember bits and pieces, but I don't know if those were from video clips, or from watching the actual movie.

  18. "I know you, the gleam in your eyes was so peculiar a gleam" - from Sleeping Beauty [[livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] cindyg]

I remember the fairies and the owl quite clearly. Aurora and the Prince, not so much. (I loved the owl. He looked so dashing in the Prince's clothes ^___^)

  19. "From the day we arrive on the planet. And blinking, step into the sun" - from The Lion King [[livejournal.com profile] habeo, [livejournal.com profile] burr86, [livejournal.com profile] tango, [livejournal.com profile] marcelle42, [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay, [livejournal.com profile] iruka11]

  20. Bonus: "twitterpated" - from Bambi!
    [livejournal.com profile] atomic_clay: ;pp
[livejournal.com profile] lady_angelina: Hee! I was thinking lovestruck... ;-pp

on #9, isn't most of the song sung by Belle? That's Something There, and Mrs. Potts only sings at the end, "there may be something there that wasn't there before" twice.

>_> no I did not go about singing this song in Belle character voice at 9, noooo.

Hmm. It probably was. I still associate it with Mrs. Potts because I remember the scene with her and Chip, where they're watching from the window *g*

This line made me laugh.

I feel so saddened by not being able to have seen several of the shows you mentioned. The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book (though I managed to get the song there, I merely recalled some Disney Channel ad that showcased the song). It's like feeling a bit incomplete.

Tis true. I'm more like Gaston's sidekick than like Gaston (I'm sort of happy about that considering what an aaaasssss Gaston was XD)

Hunchback was all right, but missable. Loved Pocahontas; Lady and the Tramp was a part of my childhood which I don't really remember except for knowing that it was a part of my childhood. There will always be new movies, and opportunities to watch old ones :) No need to feel incomplete.

That's the funny thing about Gaston - the more manlier he seems, the more insecure he becomes (he's an assssss too, but that's another story). I was never one to equate manliness to insecurity, so there, he's manly, but not, in my book.

Hmmm, perhaps the most I regret watching was Hunchback (because of the setting), and Pocahontas (the art style). Also, probably because, among the Disney "fairy tale" sets, these are the two I am least familiar with (oh wait, Pocahontas wasn't a fairy tale, nevermind).

About Gaston, I'm pretty sure that it's deliberate *g* But really, I was thinking more of the voice when I said my manliness thing (that voice is really meant to be sung in a certain tone which I just cannot reach :()

@3: I knew there was something not quite right with my guess. Haha, just because it had cats I guessed it was Aristocats eh? Haha. XD

@6: Hunchback of Notre Dame was released in the late 90s I think, which was when most of our generation started "outgrowing" Disney musicals? Regardless, I didn't watch this one in the theaters, haha, I just read the comic adaptation from the Disney Adventures magazines. XD

@7: Oh, NOW I REMEMBER! Haha, that Mario-ish chef with scary eyebags. XD

@14: Mulan - "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" :)

Aw man, I missed so many. Haha!
